The Johnny McLean Lunch Club for Washington, DC Scrappers
The Johnny McLean Lunch Club was established in March of 2025 to serve as a social club for the DC “swamp class”, which is to say, the consultants, lawyers, bankers, lobbyists, and current and former Federal workers… who call themselves Washington, DC Scrappers.
The Johnny McLean Lunch Club is named for McLean, Virginia’s namesake, the Honorable John McLean, former Supreme Court Judge and the nineth Postmaster General of the United States of America. There is no record of John McLean ever setting foot in McLean, VA.
John McLean counsels with President James Monroe. Postmaster McLean guaranteeing President Monroe there will be mail service on Saturdays, even though no one has ever asked for it. “Coupons through the USPS are the lifeblood of U.S. commerce!” argued McLean.
